Brenda Gosewisch Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Brenda Lee Gosewisch, 61, of Severna Park, Maryland, who peacefully departed this world on Friday, June 19, 2026. Born on November 18, 1964, in Baltimore, Maryland, Brenda lived a life filled with music, friendship, and the simple pleasures she enjoyed most.

Brenda was a beloved sister to Linda Rohleder and her husband Mike, Dennis Gosewisch and his wife Sherry, Gregory Gosewisch and his wife Jaci, Douglas Gosewisch and his wife Maria, and Karen Henley. She shared a special bond with her niece Kristie, her husband Brian, and grand-nephew Tyler Chisholm, with whom she lived for many joyful years. Brenda was preceded in death by her loving parents, Rudolph and Jean Gosewisch, whose memories she held close to her heart.

Brenda, who was born with Down syndrome, graduated from Marley Glen Special School and spent many years working at OBI. She took pride in her work and especially loved receiving her paycheck. Those who knew Brenda well knew that few things brought a bigger smile to her face than finding dollar bills tucked inside a birthday card. Brenda enjoyed bowling, dancing, and listening to music, especially Rod Stewart and Tina Turner. Throughout her life, she looked forward to spending time with friends she met through work and community programs. In 2022, she moved into a Bello Machre home, where she was cared for with kindness and compassion and became part of their family. She enjoyed getting her nails done and partaking in their daily activities.

Brenda’s spirit will live on in the memories of those whose lives she touched.

In honoring Brenda’s life, visiting hours will be held on Thursday, June 25, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a time of sharing to begin at 7:00 pm at Stallings Funeral Home in Pasadena, Maryland. Attendees are encouraged to wear bright or mismatched colors in honor of Brenda and the Down's Syndrome Society when they come celebrate Brenda’s life and share their memories. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bello Machre, an organization close to Brenda’s heart, or to Hospice of the Chesapeake, whose staff provided comfort and care in her final days.

Brenda will be remembered for her love of music, her enjoyment of life’s simple pleasures, and the happiness she found in the people, activities, and routines that brought her joy.
