Birchie E. (Elswick) Fisher

Birchie E. Fisher, 96, a 78 year resident of Glen Burnie, MD and originally of Virginia, died on August 31, 2020 at the University of Maryland Medical Center.

Mrs. Fisher was born on September 14, 1923 in Vansant, VA to the late James C. and Mary Ann Elswick. She served as a seamstress at North Arundel Hospital and retired from there after over 25 years of service. She was also a former member of the Glen Burnie Church of the Nazarene where she enjoyed worshiping and growing in her faith. She truly loved the Lord.

In her spare time, Birchie was an avid gardener and loved planting and tending her flowers and vegetables. She also enjoyed crocheting, antiquing, watching game shows, and taking day trips to West Virginia and the mountains.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Fisher is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Clarence Fisher, and 10 siblings. She is survived by her daughter, Linda Cox, and her husband, Dewey, of Glen Burnie and 2 grandchildren, David L. Cox and Sarah Grace Cox.

Funeral services and interment are private.
