It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Betty Lou Blake on December 8, 2024. She was born August 4, 1931 and was a lifelong Maryland resident. Betty is preceded in death by her parents, her eleven siblings as well as her son, George and his son, Ryan. She is survived by her son, David and his wife, Donna, as well as her sister, Leanie and many other family members.
Betty will be remembered as a wonderful mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, sister, and cousin. Others who didn’t share a blood connection adopted her as a close family member. She had a love for life and was always up for shopping, eating out, and gardening in her greenhouse and the yard. Frequently she was seen in the yard and on her deck, cleaning, sweeping, raking leaves and picking up acorns. Few people who knew her could believe her age as she stayed active until the end buzzing around Pasadena in her little green beetle with large eyelashes on the headlights. Her wit and wisdom, friendliness, wonderful smile, joyous laugh and verve for life will never be forgotten. She will be forever missed and never forgotten.
