Betty Lou Collins, 79, a lifelong resident of Maryland, passed away Monday, January 23, 2023 in her home.
Mrs. Collins was born January 11, 1944 in Baltimore, MD to the late Melvin and Daisy Ringrose. She worked as a dispatcher for the Maryland Parking and SP Parking at BWI for 27 years. In her younger years, Mrs. Collins enjoyed racing and won the Powder Puff competition at Dorsey Speedway. In her free time, she enjoyed going to the Casino and traveling when the opportunity presented itself. Her daughter, Sandi, referred to her mother as her "ride or die" travel buddy and, while not keen on planned travel, always love to go on trips spontaneously. She liked going to the beach, especially Ocean City. She loved being around her family and entertaining, especially around the holidays. Mrs. Collins was a strong women with a lot of wisdom to share. She will be greatly missed.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Collins is preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Gary Lee Collins, Sr., son, Gary Lee Collins, Jr. and siblings Daisy M. Jones and Donny Ringrose. She is survived by her daughter, Sandra "Sandi" Hulson; siblings Terry Jarvis and Melvin Ringrose; grandchildren Christopher Horseman, Cameron Collins, Gary Collins, III, Jessica Horseman, Amber Clifford, Joshua LaFon and great grandchildren Sophia Horseman, Edward Horseman, Kenneth Horseman, Liam Lovato, Paisley Lovato, Cameron Collins, II, Addilyn Collins, Gary Lee Collins, Jr., Everleigh Collins and Nova Clifford.
Friends may call Saturday, January 28th from 3-5 pm and 7-9 pm at Stallings Funeral Home, 3111 Mountain Road, Pasadena, MD 21122 where a service will begin at 8:00 pm. Interment is private.
