Bethany Biddie Jane (Lawson) Belcher

Bethany Biddie Jane Belcher, 65, a lifelong resident of Maryland, passed away Tuesday, September 10, 2024 in her home. 

Mrs. Belcher was born December 10, 1958 in Baltimore City, Maryland to the late Marvin and Nadine Lawson. During her 20-30's, Mrs. Belcher worked as a Legal Secretary for many firms, including Blum Law Office. From there, she earned her teaching degree in History and Geography. She taught at Corkran Middle School until her career path led her in a different direction. She went on to earn her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Maryland where she worked as a Psychiatric Nurse for Sheppard Pratt until her retirement after 5 years of service. She was a member of Chesapeake Christian Center.  In her free time, she enjoyed vacationing, especially in Massanutten. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and was an avid animal lover. She had a very kind, caring demeanor and was described as having a "heart of gold". She will be greatly missed by all. 

Mrs. Belcher is survived by her husband of 28 years, John Belcher; son Scott Cuthbert and his wife Chelsea; step-children Lane Belcher and his wife Sarah, Davis Belcher; grandchildren, Zelda, Daphne and Teagan. 

 A memorial service and luncheon will be held on Monday, September 16, 2024 at 11 AM held at Chesapeake Christian Center, 206 Weston Woods Drive, Pasadena, MD 21122. Interment is private.
