Rhodesdale, MD – The vibrant spirit of Bertha Margaret Scriba, aged 79, returned to her heavenly home on Friday, June 27, 2025. Born in Baltimore, Maryland on a warm Sunday, Bertha spent her final days in the comfort of her cherished home in Rhodesdale, MD.

Bertha was a dedicated and hardworking woman, contributing significantly to the manufacturing industry throughout her professional life. Her tireless work ethic served as an inspiration to all who knew her. However, her greatest pride and joy came from the loving family she nurtured and the compassionate heart she showed to all creatures great and small.

A lover of animals, Bertha was particularly fond of her cats and enjoyed the lively companionship of the horses and goats that roamed her yard. Her love and respect for animals extended beyond her home, touching the hearts of all who shared her path.

Bertha is survived by her beloved children, Johnny Maks, Mark Maks, and Brian Maks. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren, Brian Maks, Kevin Maks, and Cory Maks, and her great-grandson, Grayson Sears, who will carry forward her kindness and warmth.

She joins her dear granddaughter, Brooke Maks, and her three siblings in the great beyond, where they are surely sharing stories and laughter once more.

Services and interment are private.

Bertha Margaret Scriba will be remembered as a loving mother, devoted grandmother, and a friend to all. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and the countless animals that had the pleasure of her care. May her soul find peace among the stars, where she now watches over those she loves.
