B. Glenoka Given, 93, an 8 year resident of Pasadena, MD and formerly of Florida, died at her home on August 22, 2020.
Mrs. Given was born on a farm on April 25, 1927 in Norton, WV to the late William and Belva Thacker. She was 1 of 13 children. As a young woman, she moved to the Baltimore Highlands area and took a job as a Machine Operator with Kooper's. She remained there fore 31 years before retiring in 1981. Upon retirement, Glenoka and her husband moved to Florida and spent the next 30 years enjoying life by fishing, camping, backpacking, cake decorating, gardening, and traveling all over the country. Their love for travel and family lead them to travel by RV to every state, taking grandchildren many times. She was also a member of the Glen Burnie Church of Christ and loved her Church family.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Given is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 59 years, William Given, and 12 siblings. She is survived by her daughters, Janet Jenkins of Pasadena and Jeanie Fitzpatrick of Mardela Springs; 5 generations of grandchildren to include 6 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren and her precious "fur-baby", Precious.
Friends and family may visit on Sunday, August 30 from 1-3 and 5-7 p.m. at Stallings Funeral Home, 3111 Mountain Rd., Pasadena, MD 21122 where funeral services will be held on Monday, August 31 at 1:00 p.m. Interment at the Crownsville Veterans Cemetery. Please be aware that, due to county-mandated COVID-19 restrictions, Stallings Funeral Home is only allowing 35 people in the building at a time and face coverings must be worn while inside.
