Barbara Jean White, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully at her home in Pasadena, Maryland on Monday, May 19th, 2025, at the age of 86. Born on Wednesday, November 16th, 1938, in the charming town of Putney, West Virginia, Barbara was the daughter of the late Edward Asher and Ona Belle Asher.
Barbara devoted her professional life to serving as an interpreter, having studied at Gallaudet College. She found great fulfillment in bridging communication gaps and helping those in need. Beyond her professional life, Barbara was an engaging and spirited individual with a deep love for collecting antiques and expressing her creativity through sewing and painting. She was happiest when traveling with her devoted husband, Donald White, of Pasadena, MD, with whom she shared countless adventures. Together they cultivated a loving home filled with laughter and warmth, always reflecting her cheerful spirit and deep love for God.
Barbara was predeceased by her parents and her siblings, Emma Campbell, Jurline Bonham, Dayfeen Gooch, Faye Stewart, and June Honaker, who she always held dearly in her heart.
She is survived by her loving husband, Donald, who was her steadfast partner in life. Barbara leaves behind a devoted family who adored her, including her children, Pastor Donald Edgar White and Tina Jeanne Farabough. Her legacy also lives on through her cherished grandchildren, Matthew White, Samuel White, Sean Farabough, and Jacob Farabough, as well as her great-grandchildren, Cole White and Chloe White.
Family and friends whose lives were touched by Barbara are invited to attend a visitation service on Friday, May 23rd, 2025, from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm at the Stallings Funeral Home in Pasadena, Maryland. In celebration of Barbara’s life, a funeral service will take place at Calvary Baptist Church Academy in Glen Burnie, MD on Saturday, May 24th, 2025, at 9:30 am. Interment to immediately follow at Fort Lincoln Cemetery.
Barbara Jean White’s bright spirit, love for her family, and dedication to her community will forever be etched in the hearts of those who knew her. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all.
