Barbara Anne Kelly, a beloved mother, sister, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 29th, 2025, at her home in Pasadena, Maryland. She was born on Sunday, February 2nd, 1958, in Baltimore, Maryland, to the late Walter Daniel Dembeck and Charlotte Lillian Dembeck.
Barbara's spirited presence and generous heart left an indelible mark on everyone who knew her. She is survived by her children, Daniel Walter Kelly and his wife Ashley, and James "Jimmy" Patrick Kelly, Jr. She also leaves behind her dearly loved siblings, Deborah VonMoose, Kevin Dembeck, Kenny Dembeck, Willy Dembeck, and George Dembeck; her precious grandchildren, Michaela Kelly and Ian Kelly, who were the light of her life. She joins in eternal rest her father and mother, as well as her siblings, Donald Dembeck, Karen Downey-Berkwit, and Walter Dembeck.
A dedicated member of the cafeteria staff at Chesapeake Bay Middle School, Barbara found joy in her work and was known for her patience and kindness, particularly with children and those in need. Her natural inclination to care for others was evident in her everyday interactions, always looking for opportunities to assist and provide comfort to those around her. Her home was a place of warmth and generosity, always welcoming guests with open arms and a lively spirit.
Barbara was deeply connected to her faith, finding solace and inspiration in attending church, Grace Baptist and spending cherished time with her family. Her love for her family was boundless, and she relished moments shared with them, including watching her favorite soap operas and indulging in episodes of The Price is Right on the game show network. Known for her adventurous spirit and fun-loving nature, Barbara had a sweet tooth she famously indulged with her favorite candy, Butterfingers, and anything chocolate. Every morning began with a comforting cup of coffee accented with a sprinkle of cinnamon.
She will be remembered fondly for her vivacious personality, her caring nature, and her unwavering commitment to providing a nurturing environment for everyone she encountered. Her legacy of generosity, joy, and love will be carried forward by those whose lives she touched.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Barbara's remarkable life, reflecting on the joyous memories and the profound impact she made on countless hearts. A memorial service will be held Friday, December 12th at 4:00 pm at Lansdowne Alliance Church, 2212 Lansdowne Road, Halthorpe, MD 21227. May her sweet soul rest in peace, forever cherished in our hearts.
