Barbara Ann Kearney

Barbara Ann Kearney (nee Gregor), age 84, and a 64 year resident of Glen Burnie, passed away on October 15, 2025.  She was born on October 22, 1940 in Farmington, WVa to Steve and Julia Gregor.  She moved to Maryland in 1961 after marrying her high school sweetheart and having their first baby.

Barbara was a homemaker who took great pride in her home and gardens.  Since her husband Mike was a teacher, she started babysitting teachers’ children so she and Mike could have the summers off together.  She watched many children over 20 years, whom she loved and would  become a part of some of their lives until the end.

Barbara was involved in many women’s groups and active in her church and community.  She also loved going to yard sales and estate sales.  She and Mike had many friends that they enjoyed going out with to dinners, parties, concerts and playing Dominoes and Farkle.  They also enjoyed bus trips and traveled to many places.

Barbara is survived by her two daughters Cindy Kearney-Green, her husband Randy and Sheila Kearney, her grandson Cody Meekins and granddaughter Jessica Fitzell, her husband Russ, and great-granddaughter Isabella.  Also surviving is her brother Robert Gregor, his wife Karen, and their two sons Steve and Brian and their families.

Barbara is preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, John Michael Kearney, her brother Donald Gregor, and grandson Cody Green.

Barbara’s family wishes to thank all who have offered support during this difficult time.  She will be remembered for her warmth, and kindness, and will be greatly missed.

Services and interment will be private, reflecting Barbara’s wishes.
