Arthur Hobbs Obituary

Arthur Bernard Hobbs Jr., a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 23rd, 2025, at the age of 93 in Pasadena, Maryland. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, on Friday, July 8th, 1932, Arthur lived a life full of love, service, and dedication to his family and community.

Arthur was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur Bernard Hobbs Sr. and Catherine Marie Hobbs, as well as his siblings, Charles Hobbs, Virginia Harry, and Lillian Weckesser. He leaves behind his devoted wife of 68 years, Joan Kines Hobbs; his cherished children, Tom Hobbs and his wife Lisa, and Laurie Fowler and her husband Steve. He also leaves behind his treasured grandchildren, Kyle Fowler (Catherine), Kelsie Ruhling (Shawn), and Erin Hobbs, and his precious great-grandchildren, Stella, Kannon, and Griffey Ruhling, and Hugo Fowler.

Arthur proudly served his country as a member of the Navy, an experience that instilled in him a deep love for his country and a lifelong appreciation for military service. Following his military career, he worked as an Ink Technician, where his dedication and hard work were well respected.

Arthur was an active member of the Lions Club and a passionate sports enthusiast. He was a devoted season ticket holder for the Baltimore Colts, was an avid Orioles fan and enjoyed many games surrounded by friends and family. Arthur found joy in golfing, gardening, and vacationing along the serene beaches of the Outer Banks and Ocean City.

Arthur's love for his family was the cornerstone of his life. He lived his days filled with pride and affection for his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, leaving them with memories that will be cherished forever.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Hospice of the Chesapeake, 90 Ritchie Highway, Pasadena, MD 21122, as a fitting tribute to a life well-lived and a testament to Arthur's spirit of giving and care for others.

Arthur's legacy of love and community service will live on in the hearts of those who knew him. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered. A graveside service will be held Saturday, September 13th at 12 pm at Lakeview Memorial Park, 2724 Liberty Road, Sykesville, MD 21784.
