Arthur Edward Smith, 77, a 41 year resident of Glen Burnie, MD and formerly of Baltimore, died on November 3, 2020 at the Baltimore Washington Medical Center.
Mr. Smith was born on October 15, 1943 in Johnson City, NY to the late Russell and Alberta Smith. He served honorably in the United States Navy from 1962 to 1966. After returning from his time in the service, Arthur began his career as an Electrician with Bethlehem Steel. When Bethlehem went out of business, he took a job at the Coast Guard Yard and worked there for 19 years until retirement.
Outside of work, Mr. Smith had many hobbies and interests. He loved being outdoors, whether it was deer hunting, doing yard work, taking care of his tomato plants, or coaching Little League Baseball. Arthur also enjoyed working with tools and even built miniature lighthouses in his spare time. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
Mr. Smith is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Sharon Smith; son, Timothy Smith, and his fiance, Julie Pfanstiel of Stoney Beach; siblings, Sandra (Robert) Ruland of Johnson City, NY and George (Kathy) Schuster of Binghamton; and 1 nephew, Kenneth (Jen) Ruland.
Family and friends may visit on Thursday, November 12 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Stallings Funeral Home, 3111 Pasadena, MD 21122 where funeral services will begin at 1:00 p.m. Interment private.
