She was born on Monday, August 4th, 1952 in Fort Campbell, Kentucky to the late Asa Coleman and Adelle Knox. Mrs. Lewis grew up as a child of military parents and lived the majority of her life in Baltimore, Maryland. She graduated from Forest Park Senior High School class of 1971. In 1987, she was the recipient of The Mayor’s Community Service Award of Baltimore City. Mrs. Lewis valued community service and was an active Boys Scout mom. She was a member of the World Mission Society Church of God. Mrs. Lewis worked at Security Plus Federal Credit Union in various positions for over 25 years, retiring in 2017. In her free time she enjoyed making jewelry, arts and crafts, crocheting, and baking amazing cakes.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her brother Freddie Knox.
Mrs. Lewis is survived by her husband of 45 years, Anthony Young Lewis, Jr.; her sons Anthony Young Lewis, III and Jonathan Christopher Lewis and his wife Medinah; and her grandchild Nijah Imani.
Family and friends may visit on Friday, February 23, 2024 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8;00 pm at the Stallings Funeral Home. Interment Garrison Forrest Veterans Cemetery 11:30 am on March 8, 2024.
