It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Alma D. Calvert, a beloved mother, sister, grandmother, and friend, who passed away peacefully at her residence in Pasadena, Maryland on Tuesday, July 7th, 2026. Born into the warmth of Tennessee on September 20th, 1932, Alma lived a life full of love, laughter, and unwavering dedication to her family and community.

Alma is preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Rosa Luckett, and eight of her siblings. She leaves behind a legacy through her cherished family, survived by her daughter, Rose Lawson (Dave), and her sons, Lawrence C. Calvert, Jr. (Patricia) and Mark Calvert (Tammie). Alma's love and wisdom continue to guide her sister, Ramona McRee. Alma's spirit also lives on in her five grandchildren; David, Jr., Brandi, Jason, Katlyn and Samantha and six great-grandchildren; Jadyn, Nathaniel, Janelle, Cecilia, Maxwell, Henry, who were fortunate to know the love of their great-grandmother. Her spirit will also live on in her soon to arrive grandson Leos.

Alma dedicated her life to her work as a hostess, spending 50 treasured years at Snyder's Willow Grove Restaurant, where she welcomed countless faces with warmth and kindness. Her dedication to her work transcended the daily duties, forming lasting memories and connections with patrons and colleagues alike. Alma's free spirit shined as she enjoyed the thrills of being a racetrack enthusiast, always ready for an adventure.

Visitation will take place at Stallings Funeral Home in Pasadena, Maryland on Tuesday, July 14, 2026 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, allowing family and friends to gather and share memories of Alma’s life. To celebrate the remarkable life of Alma, a funeral service will be held that same day at Stallings Funeral Home at 1:00 pm, officiated by Sammy Foster.

Following the funeral service, Alma will be laid to rest at Glen Haven Memorial Park, where her spirit will join loved ones who have passed before her.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Donna with Hospice of the Chesapeake as well as Alma's caregiver and friend Michelle for their kindness, care and compassion.
